Travel Tips
Bodrum Milas (BJV) Airport
We recommend flying into Bodrum-Milas airport. It is an international airport, so there are a number of countries you can fly in from.
Ubers and Taxis
You can use Uber or taxi from the airport to get to your accommodations, and throughout Bodrum.

Historic Locations
Türkiye is home to countless historic sites. When visiting religiously affiliated locations, modest attire is often required - covering shoulders, legs, and sometimes hair. Some sites provide or rent coverings if needed.
Travel Visa
If you’re traveling from the U.S., you don’t need a visa to visit Türkiye for tourist stays under 90 days.
Tap Water Advisory
While it’s safe for things like brushing your teeth and bathing, it is not recommended to drink the tap water in Türkiye.
Stay Connected
We recommend downloading WhatsApp before your trip. You can also purchase an eSIM from Airalo to give you data but make sure to do this before you get to Türkiye, as you cannot access it once in the country.
Car Rental - Not Needed
We don’t recommend renting a car. Parking can be limited and traffic can be tricky, but taxis and rideshares are inexpensive and widely available.
Legal Reminder
This probably goes without saying, but there are very different laws in Türkiye regarding substances. Don't test it please.
Local Currency
It’s a good idea to carry some Turkish lira, just in case (especially for smaller shops and taxis).
Plug Adapters
Türkiye uses EU style outlets. Also double-check the voltage on your electronics. Phone chargers are fine, but things like hairdryers might not be compatible without a voltage converter.
